I faced my fears and bike NYC today. It was crazy but pretty awesome. But honestly, the best part of my day was meeting Zachary Levi, Chuck, from "Chuck!!" OMG - yes I just blogged "OMG," but seriously I am at a loss for words right now I am just super excited!

Appended (Nov 10):

My friend invited me to go on a biking trip in NYC, and although I was a bit terrified, I was also excited and jumped on the opportunity. The morning began with the drive up to the city. Once we got there, we wasted not time and go to biking. We went from our hotel in midtown to the water. I really wanted to go to the Statue of Liberty, but you obviously can't do that via bike, so we did the next best thing and biked one of the paths that over looks it. Unfortunately my camera stopped working on this trip, so I got to use my "not smart" six year old phone (bare with me, I tried my best)

If you look really close, you can see the
Statue of Liberty right in the middle of
the photo on the horizon. How could
you miss it, right?!
We then continued following the path, down to Battery Park where we took a short break for a snack. I had my very first "dirty water" hotdog.

Self explanatory?
After that we ventured through the city, to the 9/11 memorial. Unfortunately the line was massive and we were on a (not so) tight schedule, but with the bikes it was more of a hassle to get in, so we only so the outside. We decided we would have to plan this site out better for another visit.

We passed some cool artwork on the way

Next was my favorite part, and most dangerous…shopping!!! I made my first Lululemon purchase! Eek my wallet is screaming at me (judge all you want but I have been eyeing these pants for months). And we grabbed another snack and hot drink while I waited for my toes to defrost. It was quite a chilly and windy day. But, I was pretty pumped to see these fancy NYC Starbucks with menu items I have never seen before, like butternut squash and sage tarts, pumpkin croissants and macaroon cookies.

Umm, yumm!! This was the warm and chewy
chocolate macaroon cookie :) Need I say more?!
After warming up a bit, regaining circulation in my feet, and throwing on a third outer layer, we continues out journey. The next stop was Madison Square Garden and the building I though looked awesome across the street, the United States Post Office. You might think I'm a dork, but seriously guys, it was ginormous!
And the post office. This is only
like a quarter of the building.
Outside of the arena

By then it was getting dark so we decided to head home, riding through times square. So crazy. Bikers, cars, walkers, carts, everything, everywhere! I was weaving in and out. I could't believe I made it through. We dropped off our stuff and changed for dinner and a show. We went to this awesome Japanese BBQ restaurant where you order what you want and grill it at your table, yes your table has a grill built into it. How cool is that? Then there are bbq sauces at the table for you to add to your cooked food, mmm. So we ordered a little of everything and had a little feast.
Cooking away :)
Heating up.
After filling our belly's we were off to the show. We saw First Date which was quite hilarious and I would defiantly recommend it. But even better then the musical was the fact that (as I mentioned above) Zachary Levi, the main character of "Chuck" (one of my favorite shows ever) was the main character in the play. Again, OMG! I was so excited, and I got to meet him, and get my photograph with him (and again, damn my camera breaking, good thing I had my handy dandy "dumb" phone), and get him to sign my play bill! Ahhh, words cannot express!!!! And Brenden was super jealous, ha.

There he is!!! (just as awesome
in person as his characters are)
With meeeee!!! EEK, his arm was around me.

Once I was able to recollect myself (jk, I wasn't that bad) we went to Stardust for some dessert. All of the waiters sing and dance here, pretty cool. So I listened as I enjoyed some fruit and frozen yogurt. I then hailed a cab and we went back to the hotel, where we went to the 27th floor to look at the amazing view for a few minutes before collapsing on the bed to sleep. NYC biking adventure day 1 = SUCCESS! :D
