The Pursuit Of Happiness: Week in Review
Saturday (306)I almost forgot I how much I love paddle boarding. It's my favorite. Which do you prefer, a SUP or kayak?
It was the perfect summer day: on the water during the day and by a bonfire in the evening. Jeff V. and I went to our favorite Annapolis paddle boarding shop and went on the river for an hour. I was super nervous about falling in, as I haven't gone out on a SUP in almost a year, but after about three minutes I was carefree. Of course I still didn't want to fall in, but the water was perfect, so it wouldn't be a tragedy if I did. We first tried to paddle out towards the bay, but when we both almost fell off one too many time we decided to turn around and wait until we had more experience this season to venture out there. Instead we paddled back the way we came enjoying the sun, scenery, and calm water.
The rest of the evening was filled with food and relaxation. Jeff and I worked up an appetite, so we stopped at a small greek place where I gouged myself on greek potato skin gyro apps, hummus, greek salad, and spinach pie. Later that evening Brenden and I headed to DJ's to enjoy a cookout dinner with her, Shane, Lauren and Anna, followed by a bonfire complete with s'mores. After all, what is a bonfire without the roasted marshmallows? #summergoals

Sunday (307)
Happy Father's Day, Dad, wherever you are. And Happy Father's Day to all the other's celebrating, new and old. It was a good day, but a tough day too. It was the first Father's Day I couldn't celebrate with my dad, so I guess it was more of a commemoration day. I did things for me and for him.
I woke up somewhat early on Sunday to get in my long (7 mile run). It was perfect timing because it was just getting hot as I finished. I have a very low 'perfect'-running-temperature-zone. Nine times out of ten I am usually telling myself it is too hot or too cold to start my run. Does anyone else have this problem? The struggle is real. What is your perfect running temperature? Once I am out there thought, it is always great. Just have to get that first mile out of the way.
The afternoon brought a gym workout followed by lunch at Panera with my mom (though I didn't get my dad's favorite black bean soup). Their lobster roll was amazing though. Who's tried it? Totally worth the high price (for Panera). I stopped by Godiva after and got a ton of truffles in honor of my dad. Once I was home and Brenden got home from work, we enjoyed the truffles and Brenden order me some sushi as a pick-me-up dinner.
Monday (308)
It was a sushi eating, guacamole making, movie watching kind of night. 1) I could seriously eat sushi every single day. It's a problem. Or is it? 2) I bought the biggest haas avocados I ever seen at Harris Teeter. And they were on sale. But they were all super ripe, so I knew there would need to be a guacamole situation happening fairly quickly. 3) I had the most stressful movie/tv watching experience. Not that watching was stressful, but the plots of what I watched was stressful. I have been wanting to see 10 Cloverfield Lane for a while and finally found it on redbox. It was so not what I thought it was gonna be. And, I felt it was super random with none of the stories being completed. I had heard so many good things about this movie, but was actually fairly disappointed (though in a way happy about that because it meant no movie induced nightmares for me). *SPOILERS --sort of* First of all, did anyone else know it was going to have an alien attack in it? I must have watched only half of the trailer or something because I totally missed that. And then none of the storylines from when she is in the bunker get answered. Why did she leave her husband. Why did he kill his daughter. Who was the other girl. Was he crazy or just have anger issues? Was he really trying to help? And is it really feasible that after living in the bunker for however long, she can go defeat this giant alien that everyone has been fighting in all of ten minutes?! *END SPOILERS*
Any who, I was super excited for The Fosters season premiere. Remember that time I met Sherri Saum (one of the momma's). Yea, buddy. The season opener was so much better then I thought it was going to be, and with that, so, so stressful. It continued the school shooting scenario that was left open ended at the end of last season. And boy was it intense. I give them props for doing it so well though, I was pretty skeptical during the break. And then of course there was UnREAL. Now that I got Brenden hooked there was no way we were missing the new episode on its air date. Even if it is at 10 pm. So I went to bed stressed yet satisfied.
Tuesday (309)
I have way too many shows. Pretty Little Liars is back too. Woo. And after devoting most of my twenties to solving all the mysteries that is this show, I was sure to catch the season premiere. And I think it is the last season. So maybe they will answer all of our questions, although I think that would take more then a season. Shamefully I am still just as addicted to this show as when it started. Sorry, not sorry. Who's with me?
Wednesday (310)
Another run bike run complete, except it was only a bike run. I decided to skip the first run and and some miles to the bike. I figured I should ride more then 11 miles before my first triathlon of the season. On Saturday. Again, I was pretty pleased with my times. My running is really feeling good. The bike will get there eventually, if I continue to bike more...but for the amount of riding I have done this season, it was good. I am so happy and proud of myself for already having attended three of the run bike runs this year. That is already the same amount that I did the past two years combined. Hopefully I can keep it up. I think it really is helping with my confidence and ability. Even if I have to drag myself there each Wednesday after work, I never regret it and I always feel great after.
Thursday (311)
Sushi for lunch as thank you for being ice cream cones. So delish. I told you, everyday, I could eat it every. day.
Friday (312)
Road trip with Rachel O. We made it to Philly to pick up our packets for the Philly Trirock tomorrow. It's my first triathlon of the season. Who's excited?! Who's nervous?
How was your week? What were some of your daily highlights? Do you have any summer goals? Are addicted to any drama TV?
