Call to action

I have found many different advertisement campaigns as I have been searching for inspiration for project 4 and our show and tell. I still have no idea what I want to do for my project but I have found some very creative call to action ads.

I think that this series is very creative and it demonstrates three different images just as we must do. It is telling us that we should recycle. What drew me to these poster is the fact that the designer did not use photographs to illustrate the design. For some reason I automatically think I must use good serious photography to demonstrate what I will be campaigning. It is good to know there are other effective ways to portray topics.

The next two ads made me chuckle. The ads have different images and headlines. However, it is apparent they belong together because of the layout, font, and style of the images. This campaign takes the serious topic of smoking and makes the call to action humorous yet still meaningful - "don't smoke."

This is another ad I found humorous. I don't know how effective it is in actuality but it gets the point across. Global warming is happening and should be stopped. It doe not, however, say it how to stop it or what is causing it. Perhaps the ad is aimed to people who already know the causes and want to stop it, or perhaps it is just aimed to people who still do not believe in global warming. To get them to go the first step and realize it is happening and so that they can do something about it; although, I don't know if an ad like this is the best way to approach that subject.

Below is another series for an ad campaign to stop smoking, because it is killing you. Three separate ads with separate images for one campaign. This is a much more serious tone then the smoking campaign above. Even though there are photographs, I like that there are illustrations as well to give more impact.
This ad is a bit confusing to me, yet it still catches my attention. I am guessing it is promoting vegetarianism. It is made by the World Wildlife Foundation, so perhaps it could be about preventing hunting or pollution to, but the image of a baby makes my mind jump to vegetarianism.

  1. These are great campaign examples. Aside from the Recyle ad, the other campaigns don't provide the actual "call to action". Of course the call to action is clear in the smoking ads. I wonder if, for our ads, we have to spell out our call to action or if it can be implied.

    1. You are right. I didn't even think about that; I guess because the messages were so apparent to me that I felt the images were the call to action? I do not know if this is correct...I am guessing we have to spell it out, especially because we have to include a headline and tagline and then verbiage on one, but I don't know. Definitely a question to ask on Saturday!
