The Pursuit Of Happiness: Week In Review
SaturdayWe had a snow day. But it was a weekend snow day, which to me was a little bit of a waste but also kind of nice to have no pressure of making the most of the free day. I spent it watching Chuck and working on my Beauty and the Beast Puzzle now that I have my puzzle mat(!).
The snow was mostly in the morning so Brenden and I were still able to head over to Mark and Sarah's house for their mini party. We hung out, played games, and laughed a lot. It was a good Saturday, if I say so myself.
Sunday
It's the last day of the weekend and I spent it doing what I like to do before a long week -- watching movies and cooking for the week to come. I got Don't Breathe, Kubo, and Storks. Have you seen any of the? I actually really liked Kubo, and Storks was pretty entertaining. I didn't really like the story line behind Don't Breathe, but it was definitely scary enough that I had to focus on my puzzle during the movie so I wouldn't have nightmares. In terms of cooking I made breakfast muffins and eggs for the week, and more smokey lentils. Do you have any go to recipes you prep for the week to come? I need some new ideas.

There was a lot going on today, early in the morning and late at night. First thing's first, I swam! Woo it was only 35 minutes and I could flip turn, or push off the walls, or kick too much, but I swam none the less. It made me happy because it's a start and it is moving forward. And maybe even more fun was seeing all my swim friends in the locker room. We got to chat and catch up as much as you can in 15 minutes at 6:30 in the morning. It made me feel so loved and missed but most importantly, like things are getting back to normal.
On the other end of the spectrum I ad a late night slumber party, minus the slumber part. I opted to help Lauren O. with her 5th Grade Shul-In and Chopped Challenge Dessert Edition program. The kids were broken into three teams and had to make dessert sushi and then decorate cookie cakes. The basket ingredients were avocado, maraschino cherries, and kool aid powder. The kids were judge on presentation, creativity, taste, and sportsman ship. They also had to include one same with their rolls. Everyone was super creative and into the challenge and I judge until my stomach hurt -- part from being full and part from weird combinations (thanks brad for that mini pickle challenge...).
How was your week? What were some of your daily highlights? Any good early mornings or late night stories?
I swam with Jeff V. this evening. It was so good to be back in the water, even for a short time. I couldn't do much but it was swimming. I can see the light.
Tuesday
You know it is going to be a wonderful night when you come home to the smell of a warm dinner in the oven. Brenden had the day off and made us dinner. So many yums in my tummy. He made his meatloaf and mashed potatoes, and I wanted to eat it all. What is your favorite come home from a long day to a homemade meal, meal?
Wednesday
Trivia!! We got second, ahh!! I'm so happy. And overall for the season, we are in third place. Now we just have 8 more games to keep it up.
Thursday
Puzzle night. I had no plans so I spent the evening relaxing with the puzzle and going to bed early. It was perfect.
