Brenden's Dad and Lisa came to visit. It was there first time in the area so we excited to give them a taste of MD and DC. We cooked up a tasty breakfast at our place before getting my mom and heading to DC. We spent most of the afternoon exploring the zoo. I was pumped to see most of my favorite animals out and about -- an elephant, a zebra, three pandas eating away, and my spirit animals, a sleeping sloth and a komodo dragon. What are your favorite animals to see? After the zoo, we drove down capitol avenue where they saw a brief glimpse of the national mall. Then we headed to dinner at my cousins restaurant, DC Harvest. The food was delicious, as usual and it was awesome to finally get to see their outdoor signs (read: giant lights with the logo I designed) in real life.

Yay! I made it to Connecticut for the day, and not only did I get to catch up with one of my BFF's, Kristeena, but I got to finally meet little Sophia. Congrats to Kristeena and Ean on their precious little girl, I can't believe she is already 5 months. I am so happy I was able to spend time with the happy family. It was great to catch up with them, and I was able to tour their new home that they are soon moving into. Kristeena and I played with Sophia, talked about like, napped with Sophia, and enjoyed the day. It was great.
Where to begin...I guess the beginning. Had a great day two of the road trip, beginning with Kristeena and friends (Ean and Lauren, of course) in Connecticut -- pretty parks with amazing giant turtles and other wildlife -- followed by a pit stop at the pez factory/visitors center and then the Mystic pizza shop in Mystic, CT. And, the sunset view over the water made the it that much better.
Day one of the roadtrip! Besides accidently driving a bit out of the way (maybe two hours) we had an excellent start, which included finding this awesome miniature America, because of our misdirection. $6.75 well spent I say -- it was really quite fabulous; a hidden gem. But even better, I ended the day with Kristeena! And Ean and my travel buddy, Lauren. We talked a lot and ate hibachi and hung out and talked some more. So excited to get to catch up with everyone and spend time with Kristeena.
